It was about American airline dedicating part of their website only to women, the reason being that in USA they outnumber male counter parts online.

Hi, this is just a brief catch up on the last 7 days.

Warren said “Websites designed for Wiibrowsing: Now, in my mind this can only go so far due to the context of the input device, but it certainly poses some interesting questions for designers and for the gaming SNS services. Chiefly the difference between ’sit-forward’ and ’sit-back’ browsing…” May 10, 2007

thedelman says “they should bring back The Power Gloves, then using hand movements you can interact with both game and website”

Warren said “Virgin Media cut through the noise: In the ever chaotic world of convergence one has to hold their hand up to Virgin Media and say ‘good effort’. All the competition seems to be struggling to put things in one place and under one offer…” May 10, 2007

thedelman says “In the age of ‘sorry luv, i haven’t got the time’ Virgin have smartly organised their bundles in clear simple terms, so straight away you know what’s on offer. What would be interesting though, if there was an option (for the fussy guy who knows what he wants) where you can create your own bundles (with the aid of rich interaction, of course!), a sort of mix and match.

Andy said “Guardian unlimited – new homepage…” May 10, 2007

thedelman says ” The more i look at it the more i like it. The typography along with the increased use of screen has made a visual improvement, making it clearer and easier to read or skim. I don’t like the fact that the homepage feels like a very very long sheet of paper (which is ironic), personally, i would have wrapped up some of the lower level stuff (with the aid of rich interaction, again!), but then i suppose it comes down to a matter of opinion.

Hello this is thedelman’s weekly catch up on posts that have taken my interest. This task was given to me to help improve my ‘user experience’ knowledge.

Who said what:

Andy ” What’s going on behind my browser?: Me.dium has a broswer plugin in beta that allows you to see other Me.dium users who are browsing the same sites as you and to connect to them. It’s a kind of browsing visualisation crossed with a chat application…” april 27th 2007

thedelman says ” thumbs up – the idea behind medium is interesting, bringing like minded people together in a visual web2.0 application. It seems to be a nice blend of Messager and delicious”

Warren “ Creating an Ideas Culture – Pt 1: Our company is currently going through a bit of a change after some fairly heavyweight mergers. Firstly Oyster with Framfab and then Framfab with LBicon. The group is now an 1800 person, multinational full service design agency. It’s essentially a rollup of Oyster, Framfab, LBicon, Lost Boys, Wheel, MetaDesign, Scient, iXL and some bits of Razorfish…” april 27th 2007

thedelman says “bring it on! interesting times lie ahead but which ever route we take we must keep innovation, creativity and collaboration at the core of our foundation”

Gavin ” Touch sensitive UI for OSX leopard???: Latest news on the rumor mill is that Apple are working on ‘top-secret’ *cough* iphone style touch screen features across their desktop range. see original article here:…” April 30, 2007

thedelman says “visually touch screen look fab, i believe in a couple of years time it will be more common”

Dunners “20% Carbon After having a play around with Kayak I got thinking it would be a good idea to build a site around travel that allows people to see the carbon emitted for their trip and ways in which they could balance it out. There could be calculation tools and instant feedack to the user depending on which options were chosen, for example if they chose to go from London via Paris to Cyprus then the flight would be cheaper but may be a higher polluter than going straight there or the benefits of using the new A380 Airbus which is more fuel efficient…” May 2, 2007

thedelman says “this is a good idea, but as with so many ideas the question arises “who would fund this” sadly because of the nature of this world i can only see the government backing this one”
